Hoje veremos no blog algumas diferenças entre SUCH and SO.
➡ SUCH ‘to this degree’:
➡ SO: ‘very’
➡ SO + adjective + that
➡ SUCH + adjective + noun + that
Exemplos:
➡ SO usado antes de um adjetivo ou um advérbio (sem um substantivo depois dela)
➡ SO big
➡ SO carefully
SO + adjective (SO lazy), so + adverb (SO untidy)
Exemplos:
➡ “He’s so lazy that he never helps out with the housework.”
➡ “Why is she so untidy?”
SUCH acompanhado por ‘a’ or ‘an’, + adjetivo + um substantivo singular:
Exemplos:
➡ “SUCH a long time.”
➡ “SUCH an incredible story.”
SUCH não vem acompanhado DO ARTIGO INDEFINIDO antes de substantivos plurais ( balls, children) e substantivos INCONTÁVEIS (hair, wine)
Exemplos:
➡ SUCH (big) balls
➡ SUCH children
➡ SUCH (beautiful) hair
➡ SUCH good wine
